Aldenburg provides an informational website and a pre-qualification ("fit check") tool that helps merchants assess whether funds withheld by a regulated payment service provider, electronic money institution, acquiring bank, payment institution, or bank may constitute a recoverable claim. Where a submitted enquiry appears to fit, Aldenburg introduces it to its recovery partner for independent assessment.
The fit check produces an indicative result only. It is generated automatically from the answers you provide and does not constitute advice, an assessment of the merits of any claim, an assurance that a claim exists, or an offer of any service. No result, and nothing else on this website, creates any obligation on Aldenburg or its recovery partner to take on, assess, or pursue any claim.
All claims are handled in cooperation with our recovery partner, J. van Huuksloot Asset Management B.V. ("JvHAM"), a recovery firm operating across the EEA and the United Kingdom.
Aldenburg's role is limited to pre-qualification and introduction. Where a file is pre-approved following JvHAM's own assessment, the recovery agreement and the recovery work itself are carried out by JvHAM, which becomes the merchant's contractual counterparty for the recovery — unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.
Any recovery engagement is formed solely through JvHAM's own Claim Assignment and Recovery Agreement and supplementary instruments. It is not formed through this website, through the fit check, or through Aldenburg. The commercial terms of any recovery (including any funding of legal costs, any recovery split, and any cost-recovery threshold) are set out in, and governed exclusively by, JvHAM's own agreement with the merchant, and may differ from any indicative description shown on this website.
You are under no obligation to proceed with JvHAM, and JvHAM is under no obligation to accept any file. Either may decline to proceed at its discretion.
Recovery of withheld funds is never guaranteed. Outcomes depend on the specific facts, the documentary record, the counterparty, applicable law, and many factors outside Aldenburg's control. Any figures, timeframes, archetypes, or example scenarios shown on this website are illustrative only and are not a prediction or promise of any particular outcome in your case.

These terms, and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of Estonia, and the courts of Estonia shall have jurisdiction, save where mandatory consumer-protection or other law provides otherwise. For the avoidance of doubt, any recovery engagement with JvHAM is governed by the law and jurisdiction stated in JvHAM's own agreement, which may differ.
